CM Jagan assures compensation to Polavaram displaced if Centre denies

Alluri Sitarama Raju, July 27: On the second day of his tour, Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday visited Kuyuguru village in Chintur mandal and interacted with flood-affected families. He promised them that the water in Polavaram Project will be stored at full reservoir level (FRL) only after completing compensation payment.

Several women brought to the CM’s notice that their houses have submerged due to Godavari floods. “If Rs 1,000 or Rs 2,000 crore is only needed for compensation then I would have gladly given it without second thought,” he told and informed them that they are constantly exerting pressure on the Centre to release Rs 20,000 core for Polavaram displaced.

“The AP government will pay compensation to project oustees if Central government fails to release amount,” he assured. Jagan also promised to construct houses for Polavaram displaced at the earliest. Ministers Taneti Vanitha, Gudivada Amarnath, YSRCP MLAs and officials were present.
