Bus driver training to SC women

Amaravathi, June 30: Social Welfare Minister Merugu Nagarjuna said that bus driver training will be given to SC women and they will be posted in vacancies in RTC.
 
He reviewed the implementation of various welfare schemes at Velagapudi. He said that as part of skill development programme, training will be provided to SC women in nursing course with the help of corporate hospitals. He directed the officials to increase the loan amount from Rs 12 lakh to Rs 16 lakh, which is being given to purchase heavy vehicles. He informed that a loan of Rs 20 lakh to students pursuing PG abroad and Rs 15 lakh to those doing PG in India will be sanctioned under NSKFDC scheme.
 
Earlier, reviewing SC, ST Act, (Prevention of Atrocities), Minister Nagarjuna told the officials concerned to create awareness among the villagers about the Act. They were told to explain to upper caste people not to harass girijans and Dalits and at the same time SC, ST community people should be told not to file illegal cases.
 
He suggested appointment of DSPs to deal with SC, ST Act cases in all the districts across the State.
