Ayyanna Patrudu lands in trouble for tweet against AU, cops serve notice

Visakhapatnam, June 23: Based on the complaint of Andhra University (AU) Joint Action Committee (JAC), the police registered a case against former minister and TDP politburo member Ch. Ayyanna Patrudu. The police went to the residence of Ayyanna in Narsipatnam to serve a notice under the Section 41-A of Criminal Procedure Code (CPC). But he was not present in the house when cops arrived.

The JAC leaders condemned the defamatory remarks made by the TDP leader against the AU in Twitter and organised a protest. They staged a rasta roko and burnt his effigy. However, the family members of Ayyanna Patrudu alleged that the YSRCP government is framing cases in order to put him behind bars.

Recently, the revenue and municipal authorities had demolished the compound wall of Ayyanna Patrudu’s house. They said that wall was constructed encroaching canal land. The TDP leader got respite with the intervention of the High Court.
