Eluru: SI suspended after rowdysheeter celebrates birthday in police station, viral video
Eluru, June 20: A SI and a constable were suspended by higher officials after a rowdy-sheeter celebrated his birthday on the premises of the Two Town police station here. As per the schedule, rowdy-sheeters were called to police station for counselling.
On the same day, all the cops left the police station for bandobast duty. Coming to know about rowdy-sheeter Surya’s birthday, the remaining rowdy-sheeters have arranged a cake and made him to cut in the police station. They clapped and sang a birthday song to him while he was cutting the cake.
The video of birthday celebrations went viral on social media. Netizens criticised cops for allowing a rowdy-sheeter to celebrate his birthday in the police station. Even reports were published in newspapers.
Taking the matter very seriously, the top officials placed Two Town SI Kishore Babu and constable Rajesh under suspension and served a memo to CI Ramana. For no fault of theirs, three policemen have become scapegoats.
