Heated argument between TDP, police over demolition of Anna Canteen at Mangalagiri

Guntur, June 10: A heated argument broke out between the TDP and police officials over demolition of Anna Canteen at Mangalagiri. Row erupted as workers under the supervision of civic body staff began raging a temporary shelter set up to provide food to the poor stating that permission was not taken.

Coming to know about it, local TDP leaders and workers arrived and prevented the municipal authorities from carrying out demolition. They asked officials as to why they are removing Anna Canteen without giving a notice.

On receiving information, the police reached the spot. The TDP functionaries staged a protest alleging that Mangalagiri MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy was behind demolition. The cops took a few TDP leaders into custody and shifted them to a police station. Later, they were released. The Anna Canteen, set up near the statue of NTR, was supposed to be inaugurated by TDP national general secretary Nara Lokesh.
