Hyderabad: After a gap of almost four years, Kamal Haasan made a splash on the silver screen with 'Vikram'. The movie was directed by Lokesh Kanakaraj, the director of blockbuster films like ‘Khaidhi and 'Master'. Starring Suriya, Vijay Sethupathi and Fahad Fazil in key roles, the film was produced by Kamal Haasan under the banner of Raj Kamal Films International with R Mahendran. The film was released in Telugu under the title 'Vikram: Hit List' by Sudhakar Reddy and hero Nitin.

Released worldwide on June 3, the film has garnered positive talk. Fans have been captivated by the attitude shown by Kamal Haasan in the action scenes. Even at the age of 67, he did fight scenes on par with young heroes. Kamal showed how fans wanted to see him on screen. That is why the film was a huge success at the box office on its opening day.

The film set a worldwide box office record of over Rs 45 crore on its opening day. In Tamil Nadu alone, it has collected Rs 20 crore. According to trade sources, Rs 4.02 crore was collected in Karnataka, Rs 3.70 crore in AP, Telangana, Rs 5.20 crore in Kerala and Rs 11.50 crore overseas. Trade circles expect the film to easily reach the Rs 100 crore club this weekend.
