Thief steals gold, cash from car belonging to SP’s wife in Guntur, nabbed
Guntur, June 3: The police arrested a thief for stealing 138 grams of gold and cash from a car belonging to Asifabad SP’s wife here. A week ago, she attended a marriage at a function hall.
Thief identified as Thella Raju, who was present at the function hall, took keys of the car from her in the name of valet parking. He locked the car by keeping one of the windows of open and handed over keys to SP’s wife. Later, he stole the gold and cash from the car. The police registered a case and took up investigation. Based on the CCTV footage, the cops took Thella Raju into custody.
In a press meet, Additional SP (Crime) Srinivasa Rao said that the police recovered 138.88 grams of gold and cash from him. “Raju is a habitual offender,” he added. The SP mentioned that gold and cash will be handed over to complainant through the court.
