Honour killing: Traders observe bandh in Begum Bazaar protesting Neeraj’s murder

Hyderabad, May 21: Traders under the banners of Begum Bazaar Kiran Merchant Association and Begum Bazaar Residence Welfare Association called for bandh on Saturday, protesting murder of Neeraj Kumar Panwar. The 22-year-old was killed by relatives of his wife as they were against their love marriage.
 
One of the association leaders has condemned the murder and said that they will take out a rally to offices of the DGP and Hyderabad Police Commissioner and submit memorandums to them urging to punish the accused quickly by setting up a fast-track court. He thanked the ACP for arresting the accused within 10 hours of committing crime.
 
According to police, five persons involved in the murder were arrested. Neeraj and Sanjana fell in love and got married one-and-a-half year ago. Two months ago, Sanjana gave birth to a child. Sanjana’s mother and sister said that accused are distant relatives to them and no member in their family were associated with the crime.
