Cops take ex-TDP MLA JC Prabhakar into custody as Palle followers oppose Puttaparthi visit

Puttaparthi, May 13: The police took former TDP MLA J.C. Prabhakar Reddy into custody on Friday as the TDP workers and followers of ex-TDP minister Palle Raghunath Reddy staged a protest here, opposing his entry into temple town. Prabhakar was on his way to the Collectorate to submit a memorandum to the Collector alleging irregularities in sale of Ujwala villas.

Talking to a reporter, Prabhakar said that he came to Puttaparthi only to submit a complaint and land layout papers to the Collector and SP on behalf of a friend, who is residing in Delhi. “I don’t know why the police are not allowing me to meet officials,” he stated.

His lawyer said that Prabhakar asked police official to give in writing as to why cops have prevented his entry into Puttaparthi. Meanwhile, the police official said that they stopped the former MLA at the toll gate to stop law and order issue.
