PM Modi announces Rs 2 lakh ex-gratia for kin of Kamareddy road accident victims
Kamareddy, May 9: While condoling the deaths of nine people killed in a road accident in Kamareddy district, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh each to kin of the deceased and a compensation of Rs 50,000 for injured.
Five persons were killed and 20 others sustained injuries when a speeding truck rammed into a minivan at Hasanpally Gate in Yellareddy mandal on Sunday evening. Four among the injured died in the hospital while undergoing treatment in hospitals at Banswada and Yellareddy. The death toll was high as passengers were struck inside the trolley due to the impact of collision.
All the passengers travelling in the minivan belongs to Chillargi village. The police registered a case and took up investigation. Negligence of driver said to be the reason for road mishap. The police said that accident occurred when the minivan was heading to Nizamsagar from Pitlam.
