‘Did TDP really gave Rs 5 lakh aid to Vijayawada rape victim?’
Vijayawada, April 26: AP Women Commission chairwoman Vasireddy Padma demanded TDP leaders to inform whether they handed over the financial assistance to the rape victim or not.
It should be reminded here that TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu announced Rs 5 lakh to the Vijayawada rape victim. A woman was gangraped in Government General Hospital in Vijayawada on April 21.
Speaking to the media at Tiruvooru, Vijayawada, Vasireddy Padma criticized, “We don’t tolerate if anyone speaks irresponsibly. Women will teach a lesson to the TDP leaders. TDP leader Bonda Umamaheswara Rao said his aim is to see that I step down from the post.”
She further criticized that TDP leaders were boasting of achieving Rs 10 lakh ex gratia, job and house etc, but in fact those were promised by the YSRCP government to the victim.
Padma said she showed an amicable solution by issuing summons and by holding discussions. “But the TDP leaders are saying that I don’t have any authority to issue summons and challenging me to file a case on Chandrababu and to go to court,” she added.
