Make Vizag a hub of Tollywood, Jagan appeals to industry bigwigs

Amaravati: Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy reportedly asked the delegation of Tollywood to move the film industry to Vizag in Andhra Pradesh. The Tollywood stars and directors comprising Megastar K Chiranjeevi, Prabhas, Mahesh, directors SS Rajamouli, Koratala Shiva and others called on the Chief Minister here on Thursday seeking his intervention in resolving some pending of the film industry.

Addressing the media here after the meeting, they thanked the Chief Minister for assuring to resolve the problems of Tollywood.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister reportedly asked Tollywood stars and directors to shift their base to Vizag and offered to provide housing plots and land for the construction of studios. He appealed to them to transform Vizag into a hub of the film industry as the city has pleasant weather and other amenities.
 
He pointed out that Tollywood is getting more revenue from AP than Telangana. Similarly, AP population is also more than Telangana and it has more theaters.
 
"Let's create an area like Jubilee Hills in Vizag. Those who are interested in setting up studios will also be provided with lands if they are planning. Visakhapatnam is the largest city in our state and it can compete with Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad," he said.

"It is possible, if we all come together, if we think of Visakhapatnam as our own city, if we all go there. Ten years, fifteen years, or twenty years, if not today, in the long run, Vizag can be on par with other metro cities of the south. To achieve this, the film industry must first come to Visakhapatnam. This is my request to all of you," said Jagan.
