Marri faults CM for spending public money on gold offerings to God

Hyderabad, Feb.24 : Pointing out that spending public exchequer for making ornaments offered to Lord Venkateshwara was against law, former Minister Marri Shashidhar Reddy said that he approach the Court on this issue.

Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Friday, Marri said that in general the governments have to spend the common good fund received from the temples get high revenue on the temples, which were in dilapidated position. Taking money from common good fund to prepare ornaments offered to Lord Venkateshwara was against law, he said.

He said that it was not correct on the part of the government to shift Dharna Chowk located at Indira Park to other place. It was nothing but arbitrary action, he alleged adding lodging protest was democratic right.
