NCP Calls Anna Hazare As 'RSS agent'

Mumbai: Seeking CBI inquiry into the massive Rs.25,000 crore sugar co-operative factories scandal, Social activist Anna Hazare moved Bombay High Court.

In view of it, NCP dubbed Anna Hazare as an "agent of the RSS". NCP spokesperson Nawab Malik criticized that Anna was playing a role in the game of 'RSS conspiracy' to defame NCP leaders, particularly Sharad Pawar.

He asked, "Why is Anna not protesting over any public issue in the BJP ruling Maharashtra".

Anna filed 2 Civil and 1 criminal PILs requesting Central Bureau of Investigation(CBI) into the massive sugar co-operative scam.

In the petitions, Anna alleged that fraud had been committed in administration by 1st burdening the cooperative sugar factories with huge debts and after that selling these units under the garb of 'sick industries' at a throwaway price. This caused a loss of Rs.25,000cr to the exchequer and public purse.

Anna also demanded SIT(Special Investigating Team) inquiry over the role of former Union agriculture minister and NCP president Sharad Pawar and his nephew Ajit Pawar, who is the former irrigation minister.
