Israeli tourist gang-raped in Manali
An Israeli woman, aged 25, was gang-raped in a taxicab in the tourist town of Manali in Himachal Pradesh on Sunday morning. There were stated to be six men already in the cab when the woman got in. Two of them criminally assaulted her. The Israeli was going to meet her friends in Keylong when the incident took place. Superintendent of Police Padam Chand told AFP that the police were trying to arrest the accused. They are looking into CCTV footage to identify them. Manali is frequented by Indian and foreign tourists for its picturesque valley, but the security of the women is a serious concern. An American woman was criminally assaulted by three men at Manali in 2013, when she boarded a truck.
