Uma Madhava Reddy may join Congress

The Telugu Desam Party has started losing its lateral leaders also after defections by its MLAs to the ruling TRS in Telangana. Uma Madhava Reddy, the widow of once TDP No 2 Elimineti Madhava Reddy, is reportedly leaving the party. Uma Madhava Reddy is, however, not joining the ruling TRS. She is said to be in talks with Congress Legislature Party leader, K. Jana Reddy, and is said to be joining that party. However, the joining date has not been announced. Uma is expected to join the Congress at a function to be organised shortly. Uma and her followers have weighed the options before them. They thought the TDP may have no future in Telangana even as Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is enthusing party cadre about coming to power in Telangana in the 2019 elections. Hence the decision to join the Congress.
