YCP demands CM apology for remark on slums
The YSR Congress has slammed Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for his remarks on slums and demanded an apology from him. 'Chandrababu Naidu commenting that `do we go to foreign countries to develop slums' is highly objectionable and we demand an apology from him,' party MLA K. Srinivasulu told reporters in Hyderabad on Saturday. This was not the first time that the Chief Minister had expressed his dissent over slum dwellers and slums and this showed how intolerant he was towards the downtrodden. He had always been against the poor and had a niche for highflying society and places, ignoring ground realities and people, he said. There are many great people who have become achievers and have come from slums. The Chief Minister has to apologize for his remarks, he added.
