200 Indian school sports competitors trapped in Turkey

Over 200 sportsmen representing India in School World Sports are stranded in coup-hit Turkey, where people have been asked to stay indoors. A group of five girls among the Indian sportsmen, who are among the stranded people, have made a video from a room with a window. In the video aired by Puthiya Thalaimurai channel, a girl says in Tamil, `The event was scheduled from July 11 to 18. We left for Turkey from New Delhi on 11th. This morning we heard that there was a bomb blast in Ankara. But there are no problems in Trabzon so far. There is no concrete information as to whether the sports event would resume. We are supposed to leave Trabzon on July 18. We will be going to Istanbul. I request the Central government to help us reach safety.' The school sportsmen were scheduled to return on July 18th.
