Lawyer attacked with knife in Madras High Court
A lawyer in the Madras High Court was on Tuesday attacked with a knife and left seriously injured. The assailant then made good his escape. The attack on the lawyer created quite a commotion in the High court, but none dared to catch the criminal. The lawyer colleagues got him admitted to a hospital. He was said to be grievously injured. The arguments in connection with a case are said to have led to the knife attack. The police reached the spot and are looking for the CCTV footage. What with so many pending cases in India, every High Court is jam packed in the day with lawyers and litigants. There are so many lawyers hovering around, many of them young. Besides, the High Courts at least are well guarded in their premises. How then could the assailant get away? Techie Swati-type incidents are repeated.
