Javdekar lays down his principles for HRD, says all have role in education

Education is not a BJP subject, it touches everyone, the newly-appointed Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javdekar said on Wednesday morning. Holding an interaction with the media, he said `We will focus on quality of education; I will work on improving quality of education in our country. Education gives meaning to life, it is the essence of life. Education is the tool of change.' He said he would take the new charge tomorrow. Then he would meet the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who would be leaving for an African tour after his return, and make a road-map for education. He said if we want to build a modern India, we will have to revolutionise our education. Significantly, he said, `We will build upon the good initiatives taken up by Smriti Irani,' who was shifted to innocuous textiles ministry, in the Cabinet reshuffle. He added `education is not a BJP subject, it touches everyone's lives. I will consult everyone.'
