Siddaramiah Cabinet reshuffle leads to violence all over Karnataka

Some of the 14 sacked ministers in the Siddaramaiah Cabinet in Karnataka took to the streets on Monday and indulged freely in violence in Bangalore and various towns of the State. A tense atmosphere prevails in the Congress-ruled State over the induction of 13 ministers and sacking of 14 ministers. Of the sacked ministers, V. Srinivas Prasad, M.H. Ambarish and Shivraj Thangadagi and their supporters took to the streets. Lashing out at Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Prasad said in Mysuru that he was kept in the dark about the decision. Ambarish's supporters blocked the highway near Mandya. Traffic was disrupted on the Bangalore-Mysore highway, wherein the supporters of Vijayanagar MLA, Krishnappa, who was expexcted to be given a berth but denied, freely indulged in stone-throwing. Supporters of Rajasekhar Patil, MLA, called for a bandh in Humnabad in Bidar district. They took out a motorcycle rally and forced shopkeepers to down shutters. Supporters of ministerial aspirants Mallikayya Guttedar and Deputy Shivshankaar Redy attacked vehicles at Kalaburagi and Gauribidanur, respectively. Nine Ministers of Cabinet and four ministers of state were sworn in at Raj Bhavan by Governor Vajibhai Vala.
