Jairam Ramesh likely to get elected to RS

While veteran leader V. Hanumantha Rao is trying to hard to get back to the Rajya Sabha, Congress leaders P Chidambaram, Jairam Ramesh and Kapil Sibal are having to go through a tough fight. Congress president Sonia Gandhi has approved the candidature of Chidambaram from Maharashtra, Jairam Ramesh from Karnataka and Kapil Sibal from Uttar Pradesh. Whether they would win is another story. With their party government in power in Karnataka, Jairam's election is almost certain. Kapil Sibal and Chidambaram are comparatively in a weaker spot. Hanumantha Rao said he could garner the support of TRS to get back to Rajya Sabha. But at the PCC level, it was decided against the Rajya Sabha polls. But then he can quote Sonia that she had agreed in principle for his re-election. Twice combined Andhra Pradesh had sent Jairam Ramesh, what did he do to the State in return? He encouraged fissiparous tendencies and split the State. Chidambaram was equally involved in the split.
