Indian films nominated for Oscar, Cannes to be rewarded

The Indian government is going to institute a fund to reward Indian films selected for world level film awards such as Oscar and Cannes. For films selected for Oscars, Rs 1 crore fund would be given to the makers and in the case of selection for Cannes festival, the award would be Rs 50 lakh. There would be cash prizes for films selected for other film festivals also. This was announced by Information and Broacasting Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, the world shooting champ. The government is going to be liberal with Hollywood and other film personalities coming from abroad for visiting the country. The visa regime for them would be liberal. Indian films are making waves abroad. Baahubali made by SS Rajamouli was a grand success worldwide recently. With the successes of Indian films abroad, the government has set apart funds for films that make a mark abroad.
