Police bear the brunt as women mandal member groups fight

Two Mandal Parishad women members in Chittoor district were involved in a fracas with their spouses and followers coming to blows recently. When the police intervened to settle the matter, they were given blows and punches, injuring them. The MPTC member Gautami's husband, Ramesh, and Telugu Yuvatha (TDP) district president, Kishore Naidu, attacked another Mandal representative, Chamundeshwari's followers. The Pakala police comprising ASIs Ravindranath and Shyambabu and constable Hanif Basha tried to separate the warring groups, but they took the brunt. How dare you? Kishore Naidu said and went on raining blows on the police . The fighters seized the police equipment such as camera and cell phones to record the fight and smashed them. As constable Hanif Basha lodged a complaint in his own police station, the top police moved in and issued non-bailable warrants against six people, including Kishore Naidu and Ramesh. Chittoor is home district of chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.
