AP Intermediate results released in record time & on same day: Ganta

For the first time in the history of Intermediate examinations, both the first and second year examinations were released on the same day in Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday and another record the boad achieved was the results were released within a month of the examinations. As usual, the girls fared better than boys in both the first and second year Inter results, Ganta Srinivas Rao, AP HRD Minister, told newsmen while releasing the results. In all, 4,11,941 students appeared for the Inter examinations in the general category and 32,655 students sat under the vocational category. In the general category, 1,74,649 students (57.46%) passed in A grade, 84,407 students passed in the B Grade (27.70%), 33,864 students in C Grade and 11,014 students in the D Grade. In all, 3,03,934 students passed in the Inter Second Year exams. The pass percentage was 73.78%, Srinivas Rao said. Girls (76.43%) and boys (71.12%) passed the examinations. Seventy-eight students who indulged in malpractices had been debarred. The memoranda of marks of four students have been withheld. As for the first year Intermediate, 4,67,747 students had appeared for the examinations in the general category and 32,655 students in the vocational category. In the general category, 1,85,538 students (58.29%) passed in the A Grade, 82,109 students in the B Grade (25.85%), 35,592 studetns in the C Grade (11.18%), and 15,061 students in the D grade (4.73%). In the First Inter, in all 3,18,300 students had passed the exam this year. The pass percentage was 68.05%. Successful girls constituted 72.09% and boys 64.2%. Thirty-six students had been debarred in the first Inter. No student's results had been withheld in the first Year. The Minster said the latest technology was used for the evaluation of answer scripts. Some 70 teachers had been identified for the false evalauation and their services would no more be used for evaluation in the future, he said.
