Do you want a popular verdict & not law in Rohith case, HC asks HCU students counsel

The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Wednesday asked counsel for supporters of Rohith Vemula of the Hyderabad Central University whether they wanted an emotion-based judgement in the case. The petitioner wanted those responsible for the suicide of Rohith Vemula, research scholar in Hyderabad Central University, to be sacked. They wanted the dismissal of Vice-Chancellor Podile Apparao as well as the removal of the Ministers responsible for it (Union Human Resources Minister Smita Irani and Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya). Counsel for the Rohith supporters based their petition on the FIR filed against the Vice-Chancellor, and the two Union Ministers. While not agreeing with counsel, the court asked him to point out under what rule should the Vice-Chancellor be sacked. Even so, how could you ask for the VC's dismissal without studying the issue in its entirety, it said. Later, cooling down, the court directed counsel to make a comprehensive study of the case and come for hearing on Monday. The court would then hear the petition.
