Railway Division for Vizag approved

The Visakha railway division has been accepted by the Centre. The long-standing demand of setting up of a railway division for Visakhapatnam has been accepted on the basis of the Mittal Committee report. A recommendation in this regard is said to have been sent by the Prime Minister's Office to the Railway Ministry on Tuesday. A new railway line running through Narsapuram and Kotapalli to Kakinada has also been accepted by the ministry. The next meeting of the Union Cabinet is expected to approve of the proposals. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu seems to have got many goodies for the State, including the uppermost demand of Special Status for Andhra pradesh, during his overnight visit to New Delhi. He had met the Prime Minister, the Union Finance Minister, the Railway Minister and the Rural Development Minister, besides BJP president Amit Shah during the visit.
