Bangalore Techie seeks divorce 'casue wife's dark

A 35-year-old software engineer in Bangalore has sought divorce allegedly on the ground that his 26-year-old wife is dark. As the techie emailed his wife seeking a divorce, the young woman rushed to the police, saying she is pregnant and wants to save her marriage. The details of the curious case are as follows: The two were married in the beginning of the year. The girl works as a research assistant with a pharma company in Noida. She joined her husband in Bangalore following the marriage. He used to harass her because of her dark skin. They were together till November. She rejoined her job last month. The girl told her husband that she was pregnant on December 5. Instead of giving happiness, the husband demanded a divorce through email. Shocked by the turn of events, the girl sought the help of the police demanding justice. The police did not register her case. She went to another police station where the case was registered. She told the police that her in-laws had seen her before fixing the marriage. If she's dark, they could have thought better of the alliance. The alleged harassment only increased after she told her husband about the pregnancy. The husband, however, told the police that the girl had health problems, which were not revealed at the time of marriage. That was why he had asked for divorce. The girl's parents say she just had dust allergy. They also appealed to the police for justice for their daughter.
