More supermarket sells plastic rice through its Bandlaguda outlet, customer protests

Hyderabad, Nov 30: Plastic rice has finally flooded the supermarket shelves in Hyderabad. The More supermarket located at Bandlaguda in Hyderabad is said to have sold a 25 kg rice bag to a customer of the same area 20 days back. The customer, identified as Srinivas, found to his dismay that the rice he cooked on Sunday turned into plastic sheet. On examination of the rice bag, he found that the bottom half of the bag contained plastic rice. When he took the plastic rice bag to the supermarket, they reported did not respond in a positive manner. In fact, defending themselves, the supermarket staff said that they had sourced the rice from the Gajanan Rice Mills in Nizamabad. An enraged Srinivas and his friends are then said to have downed the shutters of the supermarket and staged a protest.
