Indian Railways hikes minimum train fare from Rs 5 to Rs 10

Hyderabad, Nov 18: Indian Railways has increased the minimum train passenger fare from Rs 5 to Rs 10 in non-suburban services from November 20. In April this year, the railways had increased the platform ticket price to Rs 10 in order to control the rush on platforms. Since the objective failed to keep away the people from the platforms, the railways is now increasing the minimum train fare to Rs 10. Initially, the fare increase will be applicable only to second class non-suburban services.
