Lady Professor gets 7-yr jail term for forcing students into flesh trade

Tirupati, Nov 02: A lady professor of Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalam here was handed over seven year imprisonment for luring and trying to force girl students into flesh trade. Vasanta Kumari was arrested last year on the charges of encouraging girls to enter into flesh trade. A lower court termed the case as rarest of the rare and awarded seven year prison term. Vasanta Kumari appealed against the verdict in the higher court. The judgement was delivered today and judge endorsed the verdict of the lower court. The state government is initiating stern action against those involved in violence against woman. In some cases related to sexual abuse, several universities in the state have cancelled certificates of the accused.
