AP cabinet to rename Rajahmundry as Rajamahendravaram

Hyderabad, Oct 10: In a bid to protect Telugu culture and traditions, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is said to have decided to rename Rajahmundry as Rajamahendravaram, which was originally its historical name. In this connection, the AP cabinet is likely to meet today and formally make an announcement on the renaming of Rajahmundry, located on the banks of river Godavari and known to be an important town in the East Godavari district. Some of th other issues the cabinet is expected to take decisions on include giving life to Kuchipudi dance form, Amaravati foundation laying ceremony, auctioning of AgriGold properties and issues related to Keshava Reddy Group of educational Institutions.
