Rajahmundry airport expansion: 857.09 acres acquired

Rajahmundry, Sept 26: East Godavari district officials informed that the state government had acquired 857.09 acres of land for the expansion of the Rajahmundry airport located near Madhurapudi. Giving further details, Sub-Collector V. Vijaya Rama Raju of the 857.09 acres, 797.38 acres were owned by private persons. Speaking on the issue of ex-gratia, Vijaya Rama Raju said the evacuees will receive their ex gratia from October 1. The state government is paying Rs. 46 lakh per acre for lands abutting Rajahmundry and Korukonda. The rate has been fixed at Rs Rs. 31 lakh per acre for lands located in the interior parts, Raju explained.
