AU professors presence at YSRCP's Yuva Bheri triggers row

Visakhapatnam, Sep 25: Presence of Andhra University professors at YSRCP's Yuva Bheri programme has triggered a row. According to reports, HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao took a serious note of the matter and directed the university vice-chancellor GSN Raju to take action against the professors who made comments on the state government relating to special status issue. YSRCP has organised the meeting at Visakhapatnam on September 22 and thousands of students from Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts participated in it. Ten AU professors including former Registrar PVGD Prasad Reddy attended the meet and spoke on the importance of special status. During Samaikyandhra movement professors from all universities in the state took to streets and participated in agitation and Kodandaram, a senior faculty in Osmania University, led the Telangana statehood movement. The AU management is exploring the options to issue notices to the professors.
