20 red sanders wood cutters held
Kadapa, Sep 17: The police arrested 20 suspected red sanders wood cutters in Railway Kodur mandal of Kadapa district and seized 23 logs worth Rs 7 lakh from their possession. On a tip-off police launched combing operations in Desettipalli forest area in the mandal last evening and nabbed 20 wood cutters while they were illegally felling red sanders trees. In a press conference here today, Rajampeta DSP Aravinda Babu said that all the accused hail from Tiruvannamalai and Tiruvallur districts of Tamil Nadu. The wood cutters work under supervision of Vijay who stays in Vijayawada. The police yesterday nabbed seven suspected red sanders wood cutters at Mydukuru.
