River linking will end water woes: Chandrababu

Rajahmundry, July 15: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has said that river-linking will insulate the state from drought. He opined that the project will be economically viable and it will address water woes in the country. He was speaking at a conference on river linking, here today. The CM lauded noted engineer KL Rao for constructing multipurpose irrigation projects in the state. He appealed to the Centre to start river linking projects as quickly as possible. KL Rao designed Nagarjuna Sagar Project and Bhakra Nangal dams and he is known as father of Indian irrigation system. Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, Irrigation Minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, Labour Minister Atchennaidu and others were present.
