Condolences pour in for stampede victims

Hyderabad, July 14: Condolences pour in for the Rajahmundry stampede victims. Politicians, cutting across party lines expressed grief over the incident. Actor and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan shared his grief through twitter. He said that incident shocked and pained him. "I want to come and console the victims in Rajahmundry. But it may lead to stampede," he said. He called upon the party activists to participate in rescue operations. TDP MLA and cine actor Nandamuri Balakrishna too expressed his shock over the incident and asked his fans to participate in rescue operations. CPI alleged that government utterly failed to make arrangements to the devotees and demanded the government to order an inquiry. Governor ESL Narasimhan spoke to Chandrababu over phone and enquired about the incident. Union Minister Sujana Chowdary said that the incident happened as a large number of devotees forced their way into the ghat at a time. AICC president Sonia Gandhi and vice-president Rahul Gandhi, Union Ministers Venkaiah Naidu and Bandaru Dattatreya, TRS MP K Kavitha and others expressed grief over the incident.
