Jagan calls on injured devotees

Rajahmundry, July 14: YSRCP chief and Leader of Opposition in Legislative Assembly YS Jaganmohan expressed deep shock and anguish over the stampede in Rajahmundry. On knowing about the incident, Jagan cut short his Vijayawada tour and rushed to Rajahmundry. Jagan called on the injured devotees who were undergoing treatment in Rajahmundry government hospital. He expressed condolences to the bereaved families. He demanded the government to immediately release the ex-gratia amount and to provide better treatment to the injured. Jagan flayed the move to order a judicial inquiry into the incident. Even the Endowment Minister alleged that he was not consulted on pushkaralu works and questioned his need when CM is directly supervising the works but now Chandrababu wants to make officials scapegoat for his failure, he alleged. Jagan alleged that devotees were stranded at the ghat for two-and-half-hours as all gates were closed due to the presence of Chandrbabau Naidu. Though VIP ghat was earmarked for VIPs, the CM performed rituals at Kotagummam pushkarghat to gain publicity, he added.
