Search intensified for missing fishermen

Hyderabad, June 22: Coast Guard intensified search for the 50 fishermen who ventured into sea on June 16th and went missing off Kakinada coast in East Godavari district. Three helicopters of ONGC and Reliance, ships of Coast Guard and Marine Police are conducting search operations along the coast from Chennai to Odisha. According to officials, 31 boats ventured into the sea on June 16 and 19 boats have not returned to the coast. Marine police found a fishing boat at Bhavanapadu in which one person was found dead and six others were unconscious. The police immediately rescued the fishermen and shifted them to a nearby hospital. The deceased was identified as Venkateswarlu. Deputy Chief Minister N Chinarajappa is supervising the search operations. He asked the kin of fishermen not go get worried and assured that they will be traced by evening. According to reports some fishing boats reached Paradeep port in Odisha.
