Vasantha Nageswara Rao on one-day fast for special status
Nandigama, May 7, 2015: It is Deeksha time in AP now for the cause of special status. Former Minister Vasantha Nageswara Rao began a one-day Deeksha today at the Gandhi statue at Nandigaama in Krishna district this morning seeking special status to AP. "It is the responsibility of BJP Government at the Centre to grant special status to AP as a follow up to its promise on the issue at the time of bifurcation, " said Vasantha Nageswara Rao on the occasion. It may be recalled that the former minister went to the Deekha camp of actor Sivaji in Guntur and expressed his solidarity. Later, Police foiled Sivaji's Deeksha and got him admitted to the General hospital.
