''Who is the Tourism Minister? Roja, isn't it!": Sharmila's Comments in Araku

As part of the ongoing legal awareness campaign in Andhra Pradesh, YS Sharmila, the president of the state Congress, continued her election campaign on its 19th day, attending a gathering organized by the Congress Party in Araku.

During the event, Sharmila spoke about the initiatives undertaken for tribal development during YSR's tenure as Chief Minister, mentioning the provision of corporation loans, self-employment opportunities, and training centers. However, she lamented the current lack of leaders concerned with tribal issues.

She criticized the post-state division administrations of Chandrababu Naidu and YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, questioning any significant development in Araku during their tenures. Sharmila posed a critical question about the Rs. 600 crore promised by Jagan for tourism development, sarcastically questioning the effectiveness and visibility of those funds in Araku. She pointed out that Roja, the current Minister of Tourism and popularly known for her role on the show "Jabardasth," has not visited Araku nor contributed financially to its development, questioning the rationale behind voting for the current leadership.

Sharmila highlighted the potential job and opportunity growth that could arise from proper tourism development in Araku, criticizing the unfulfilled promises of a tribal university, medical college, and engineering college by the BJP, emphasizing that none of these promises had been realized.
