Tekkali Assembly Election Heats Up as MLC’s Wife Enters as Independent

In a startling announcement, Vani, the wife of the YSRCP candidate and Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) Duvvada Srinivas from the Tekkali Assembly constituency in Srikakulam district, declared that she would enter the fray as an independent candidate. Vani, a member of the Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituency (ZPTC), made this declaration to her followers.

On the occasion of her birthday on Thursday, when supporters came to extend their greetings, she shared that she would be filing her nomination on the 22nd of this month. Meanwhile, Duvvada Srinivas is scheduled to file his nomination on Friday. There have been reports of disagreements between the couple for some time.

Vani had previously brought to Chief Minister Jagan's attention the political difficulties in the constituency caused by Srinivas’s style of functioning. In this context, the YSRCP appointed Vani as the in-charge of the Tekkali constituency. However, since Srinivas was confirmed as the MLA candidate, she has been distant from the party activities. Dissatisfied with CM Jagan’s attitude, key leaders have urged her to file her nomination, making her decision to contest evident.
