Election Commission Launches New App for Voters

With the announcement of the Lok Sabha election schedule, the political atmosphere across the country has heated up, leading to increased tension among political parties. People are eagerly discussing who will contest from which constituency. In this context, the Election Commission has introduced a new mobile application to help voters get to know the candidates, including independents, contesting in their constituencies. The app provides details about the candidates' profiles, including various cases and criminal history against them, as revealed by Chief Election Commissioner Rajeev Kumar. He announced the launch of this app even before the official announcement of the Lok Sabha election schedule.

The app, named 'Know Your Candidate (KYC)', is now available on the Google Play Store. Rajeev Kumar mentioned that the app is accessible to both Android and iOS users. He emphasized that every voter has the right to know about the candidates contesting in their constituency. Knowing the criminal history of the candidates will help voters make an informed decision on whom to vote for, ensuring they can choose the right candidate.
