Deers attack staff in Nehru Zoological Park

Hyderabad, Jan 5, 2015: In an unusual incident , a herd of deers attacked staff members of the Nehru Zoological Park here this morning when their enclosures were opened as part of a routine exercise. As soon as the staff member Krishna Reddy opened the enclosure gate, the deers attacked him. When another staff member Akbar came to his rescue, the generally low lying animals attacked him too injuring him severely. The staff members said it was first time the deers attacked them. "We generally open the enclosures every morning allowing them to move free and close them in the evening after sending them in," zoo staff told reporters. This was first time such an incident occurred, said the zoo staff. The injured staff members are recovering in hospital.
