Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad hails CM Jagan as a hero

Vijayawada, September 27: Former Rajya Sabha member Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad, who recently tendered resignation to chairman post of the Andhra Pradesh Official Language Commission expressing his dissent over YSRCP government renaming NTR University of Health Sciences after former Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy (YSR), hailed Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy as a hero here on Tuesday. He recalled that the YSRCP chief took up ‘Odarpu Yatra’ ahead of elections despite UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi had promised to make him a Union Minister.

“Why should I slam Jagan, who secured 151 Assembly seats,” he asked and made it clear that he will not praise political parties who are criticising the CM. Yarlagadda mentioned that Jagan is a hero to him for giving him chairman post after becoming CM. He came down heavily on TDP chief and former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for opposing Bharat Ratna to TDP founder NT Rama Rao (NTR).

Lakshmi Prasad faulted Chandrababu for not naming Gannavaram Airport after NTR. YSRCP general secretary Lakshmi Parvathi justifying YSR name to NTRUHS was her personal opinion, he said.
