YSRCP govt insulted NTR by changing varsity name: CM Ramesh

Visakhapatnam, September 23: “YSRCP government insulted TDP founder and former Chief Minister N.T. Rama Rao (NTR) by renaming NTR University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS) after former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy (YSR),” said BJP leader and Rajya Sabha member CM Ramesh here on Friday.

Talking to reporters, he stated that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s sister and YSRTP chief Y.S. Sharmila opposed change of name to health university. He demanded the CM to reverse his decision. “Jagan government paved the way to remove YSR name to Kadapa district in the future,” he mentioned.

To a question, Ramesh said the BJP will extend support to Maha Padayatra undertaken by Amaravati farmers. “BJP will give protection to yatra if needed,” he said in the wake of YSRCP ministers from North Andhra warned to obstruct as walkathon is meant to stop Visakhapatnam from becoming executive capital. Local BJP leaders were present.
