Data theft report tabled in House; TDP’ Seva Mitra app used to delete 30 lakh votes: Bhumana

Amaravati, September 20: The House Committee constituted to probe data theft and phone-tapping during the TDP regime tabled its interim report in the Legislative Assembly on Tuesday. 
 
The panel head and Tirupati MLA B Karunakar Reddy has confirmed that sensitive information was stolen from State Data Centre in between 2017 and 2019 by using Seva Mitra app and to delete the votes of 30 lakh people, who might not vote to the TDP in 2019 elections.
 
Karunakar read out ‘unlawful interception of communications, data theft and illegal transmission, causing infringement of citizens rights during 2016-2019’ report in the House and said that more in-depth probe is needed to catch those who have stolen data from the AP government. 
 
The TDP members tried to disrupt the House when he was reading the report. Later, the TDP MLAs stormed into Speaker’s podium and raised slogans against the ruling YSRCP government. Thammineni Seetharam suspended them for a day.
