Chalo Assembly: TDP leaders climb building, raise slogans against YSRCP rule

Amaravati, September 20: As part of ‘Chalo Assembly’ call, the TDP leaders climbed a building near the Legislative Assembly on Tuesday and raised slogans against the YSRCP government for pushing the state into crisis with its faulty policies. They raised slogans demanding the AP government to release SC and ST sub-plan funds immediately. Cops arrested protesting leaders and shifted them to a police station.

The police intensified security in and around the Assembly to prevent the TDP functionaries from staging agitations. Drones are being used suspecting that the Opposition leaders might walk towards the Assembly from nearby farm fields.

Earlier, the TDP MLAs and MLCs including Atchannaidu and Nara Lokesh organised a dharna near Thullur traffic police station criticising Jagan government for scrapping various welfare schemes introduced by the previous TDP regime. “Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy betrayed BCs, SCs, STs, Minorities and Kapus,” they said. Other state leaders were also present.
