Amaravati, September 19: YSRCP MLA Kolagatla Veerabhadra Swamy from Vizianagaram unanimously elected as Deputy Speaker to the Legislative Assembly on Monday. Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, TDP deputy floor leader Atchannaidu and Assembly Speaker Thammineni Seetharam have accompanied Kolagatla to chair as a mark of respect. Members of the House congratulated Veerabhadra Swamy on being elected as Assembly Deputy Speaker.

Speaking on the occasion, the CM said that Kolagatla won as MLA two times and served as MLC on two occasions. He thanked outgoing Deputy Speaker Kona Raghupathi for tendering resignation to his post after he was told that a legislator from another community should be given a chance. Raghupathi served as Deputy Speaker for two-and-a-half-years.

Referring to Kolagatla, Atchannaidu personally congratulated him for becoming Deputy Speaker from North Andhra region. He urged Deputy Speaker to give more time to the TDP so that several issues are brought to the notice of the ruling YSRCP government.
