No objection to multiple capitals but develop Amaravati, Narayanaswamy to Jagan govt

Amaravati, September 14: Union Minister of State for Social Justice A. Narayanaswamy on Wednesday inspected western bypass road widening works in Vijayawada and asked the NHAI officials about the progress of works which are underway.

Talking to reporters, he said that Amaravati will develop as a district after expansion of west bypass. However, he expressed dissatisfaction with the AP government for not extending cooperation to national highway widening works.

To a question, Narayanaswamy mentioned that the Centre has no objection if the YSRCP government sets up multiple capitals for Andhra Pradesh but development should not stop in Amaravati. “The Central government allocated AIIMS and sanctioned national highway roads after Amaravati was recognised as a capital,” he stated.

The Union Minister said that the BJP-led NDA government’s intention is to develop Amaravati along with NTR and Guntur districts. He alleged that the YSRCP government is not utilising funds allocated by the Union government.
